"It's Our Turn" written for a research seminar in the spring of 2000, presents an overview of the history of stewardesses and flight attendants. All of the ideas in this essay have continued to mature into other more narrow studies.
"Social Spaces in High Above Places" written in the fall of 2002, for a course on vectors, this essay attempts to envision a map of social space, looking more deeply at the ways in which the changing shape of planes affected the stewardess and flight attendant job, as well as the experience of passengers.
