Final Paper Topic (Web Version)

M. O'Malley
Fall 1996

In a paper of ten pages, compare the ways Franklin Roosevelt is remembered and depicted on the World Wide Web with the ways you have seen him written about and depicted in class. This assignment will involve browsing web sites that make claims, positive or negative, about FDR and the New Deal, and then checking their claims using course material

You can find information on FDR by using the many internet search engines, for example, HotBot, which tends to be fast, or AltaVista, which can be fine tuned a bit more than some others. You can find a number of search engines at Netscape's search page. You should try several different search terms, including "New Deal," to get a representative sample.
