What Historians Do

Historians study the past, and their goal is to pass this knowledge on in some form to other people, whether students, the public, or fellow historians. Historians should follow professional standards in communicating this knowledge.

New media help historians by reaching new audiences, and reaching the same audience in new ways. For example, my paper on the Westmoreland vs. CBS libel trial can be found on the internet at the EHistory Bulletin.
