Historians seek to preserve their interpretation of past events. Those who use the web for this purpose probably want to share that information with a wide audience. Historians also probably want to use the interactive and non-linear components of digital history in order to focus their narratives.
For example, as a historian, I want to share my knowledge of Operation TORCH in North Africa, 1942. So I've created a website: Operation TORCH, North Africa, 1942
Also, digital media allow the historian to incorporate maps and other interactive elements. As another example, I use a map of northwest africa during Operation TORCH as my primary navigation. It is located at the Operation TORCH situation analysis.
