What Historian's Do

Historians should strive to incease the body of knowledge about history, the past, and past events. Then, these ideas about history need to be recorded and presented to others in a usable format, for scholarship means nothing if it is not shared with others. Utlimately, history should help us understand ourselves and society better.

New Media gives us a new way to present history. New Media can be multimedia in format, so it can incorporate films, pictures, websites, and all kinds of other stuff. This can make history accessible to people who may not pick up an academic book, bridging that gap between academia and popular history.
