About our documents  |  A Christmas Letter, 1963  |  Document Essay Archive

The personal papers, official documents and publications in the collections of the Women's Memorial Foundation highlight the individual experiences of servicewomen and the environment in which they served.

They demonstrate the kinds of jobs women filled and where they were stationed, military attitudes and policies toward servicewomen (including benefits, marriage and pregnancy), how military recruitment efforts targeted women during different eras and how women lived during their service in the US armed forces.
