Library of Congress Veteran's History Project
The
Womens Memorial Foundation's Oral History Program has joined
forces with the
Library of Congresss Veterans History Project, a congressionally-mandated
effort to collect and preserve audio and videotaped interviews with
veterans of World War I, World War II, and the Korean, Vietnam and
Persian Gulf Wars.
As a partner, the Memorial Foundation's
program is listed on the Projects Web site at the Library
of Congress, (www.loc.gov/folklife/vets/)
and our interviews will be listed in the Librarys national
catalog if they are accompanied by a signed consent form, a biographical
data sheet and a tape log.
Copies
of all these forms are in the Memorial Foundation's oral history
handbook, HerStory: An Oral History Handbook for Collecting Military
Womens Stories available for $5 plus tax, from the Women's
Memorial Gift Shop. The tapes themselves are housed in the Women's
Memorial collectionsthe principal repository for military
womens stories and memorabilia.
