In this sampling of photographs of Alabama sharecroppers taken by FSA photographer Walker Evans in 1936 first compare a formal portrait later distributed for publication to Evans"s informal picture. Then examine three different photographs of the same subject and decide who chose the pose and which was the final photo publicly exhibited.
