in Early Modern Europe

Before you begin your work each week, go to the class blog and read the specific questions posted there to guide you through the sources.

Week 1: For the first week of this portion of the course, read the first group of sources on the right and answer the questions posted about them in the class blog. The first two of these sources are "lives" of saints, a popular genre in medieval Europe. The next three have to do with magic and how it might be rooted out.

Week 2: For the second week, read the account of the trial of Martin Guerre by Jean de Coras and then respond to the questions posted in the class blog.
