Lawrence Levine's extraordinary
contribution to American history, and particularly to cultural
history, merits a serious review by his peers and by those he has
taught and influenced. This conference will celebrate Professor
Levine's work and also allow leading scholars to examine the
field—cultural history—he has done so much to help
establish.

On Friday evening, there will be a dinner in
Professor Levine's honor. Reservations for the dinner are now closed.
The conference will take place at the Arlington, Virginia campus
of George Mason University, convenient to public transportation.
