Baby Show Advertisement in the New York Tribune, May 1863

P.T. Barnum placed advertisements in many of the most popular newspapers of the day, sometimes highlighting a specific exhibit. This full column ad promoted his National Baby Show that began on Monday, May 11th, and ended Saturday, May 16th, 1863.

THE GREAT STEREOSCOPIC EXHIBITION continues to be received with immense enthusiasm, and is
universally pronounced THE MOST BEAUTIFUL OPTICAL EXHIBITION in the world. On a curtain of nearly 1,000 square feet it reproduces true to life and nature, the most beautiful PHOTOGRAPHIC VIEWS OF SCENERY,
CELESTIAL AND ANIMATED OBJECTS,
STATUARY,
BASS RELIEFS,
BUILDINGS, PORTRAITS, &c., &c.,
           STEREOSCOPIC VIEWS are universally admired, even when seen with the ordinary hand instrument. This is pre-
cisely the same thing in accuracy of delineation, while it is IMMENSELY ENLARGED, and the picture stands out upon a curtain, with the same perspective that is seen in nature, and thousands of people can see it at the same time.
           It will remain here but a short time, and every lover of this beautiful art SHOULD EMBRACE THE OPPORTUNITY to see the superb pictures of SCENERY, STATUARY, BUILDINGS, &c., which are so truthfully represented.
