Overview
In this lesson, we will be analyzing a variety of sources related to the passage and implementation of the Stamp Act. In a time where most of us pay well over 20 percent of our income to taxes, it may be hard for students to understand how significant this form of internal taxation was to the patriot colonists. By analyzing some primary sources, I hope that the students will see that the Stamp Act was not just an insignificant historical footnote, but truly a world-changing piece of legislation.
