Object of History
Each month the site features an artifact from the Smithsonian Institutions’s National Museum of American History’s collections related to a major topic in U.S. history such as the American Revolution or Civil Rights. The site includes curriculum materials and opportunities for students to participate in live online forums with Smithsonian curators and historians. The site also includes a “Guide to Doing History with Objects” and an opportunity for students and teachers to curate a virtual exhibit.
