Oui, tu seras notre modèle;
Tu n'as point terni, tu n'as point terni tes lauriers.
Ta voix libre, ta voix fidèle
Est toujours, Est toujours présente aux guerriers,
Est toujours présente aux guerriers.
Au champ d'honneur on vit ta gloire,
Au champ d'honneur on vit ta gloire.

Funeral hymn at the death of General Hoche

Yes, you shall be our example;
You have not tarnished, you have not tarnished your laurels.
Your free voice, your faithful voice
Your free voice, your faithful voice
Is always, is always present for the warriors,
Is always present for the warriors.
We see your glory on the field of honor,
We see your glory on the field of honor.
Your shadow, your shadow amidst our ranks,
Your shadow, your shadow amidst our ranks
Will know how to capture, to capture victory
And again punish the tyrants, the tyrants, the tyrants.
Your shadow amidst our ranks.
Will Capture Victory
And again, and again, and again, and again punish the tyrants
Will again, will again punish the tyrants
Punish the tyrants, punish the tyrants.
