Over at Musematic, Holly Witchey calls for museums, their vendors, and funders to demand standards-based data management, thoughtful digital asset management, and easy-to-use content management systems so that museums–large and small–can build integrated content and data for their institutions and their visitors ( my addition). Hooray!
Over at CHNM, we’ve been working with museums for the past few years and are constantly mulling over this quandry Holly discussed of building better systems for data and content management. We hope to get a chance to work through these issues and design easy-to-use, free, standards-based museum-focused web tools for building better websites and data systems.
