Where were you during the 2003 blackout in the Northeastern U.S. and Canada? (please include city and state)
Michigan
Tell your story:
I was 15, and i was at school with some friends. We were getting spanish help before we were to go to high school that fall. Anyways we were busy taking a pre-test when the power flickered. We did not think much of it, because they were working on the school. it went out then came back on. All the alarms were going off, but still we did not worry. The power flickered a 3rd time then went out for about a half hour, then came back on. About 5 minutes later a janator came in and told us that half the us was without power and terrorists did it. Then we became a litle more conserned. Luckelly we still had power, but we got to hear everything that was going on. Im not going to forget this, plus it was my sisters birthday. Also i remember we did not go anywhere, we couldn't. People lined up for 3 to 5 miles to get gas, and all the stores sold out of canned goods and water. Even after power was restored to the area, the stores were still without food. I hope now they can be better prepared if there is another blackout.
