Obama by proxy
My puppy and I couldn't vote in the presidential election - me because I'm Scottish, not American, and the puppy because she's, well, a dog.
But my wife, who is American used her postal vote in favour of President Obama, and bought both of us Obama T-shirts for Christmas, which we proudly wore on Inauguration Day.
The TV relay of the Inauguration was on in the background when my wife took this picture, and you can be sure that there was a house in Woodstock, near Oxford, UK where the event was thoroughly celebrated.
Of course, our puppy Elodie is a bit put out that the Obamas didn't choose a Miniature Schnauzer for First Dog, but you can't win them all.
