This website is a collection of more than 600 full-text documents relevant to the fields of law, history, economics, politics, diplomacy, and government. Documents are divided into four categories: pre-18th, 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, and they are also indexed alphabetically by author, subject, and title. Each category contains more than 150 full-text documents including treaties, presidential papers and addresses, and colonial charters, as well as state and federal constitutional and legal documents. Although many of these documents are directly related to U.S. history, the site is strong in documents relating to U.S. foreign relations, containing materials on the Cold War, the United Nations, and the League of Nations. In addition, the site includes 100 documents on ancient, medieval, and Renaissance history, European history, and modern diplomatic documents such as official papers relating to the Arab-Israeli conflict and the Hamas Covenant. Although the documents are not in printable format, all text is fully searchable and can be copied and pasted into a document to print. The site is frequently updated, so regular visitors can check the “What’s New” section for additions.
