Irina Livezeanu is an Associate Professor in the History Department at the University of Pittsburgh. Her main areas of research include Modern Intellectual and Cultural European History, Nationalism, and Gender. Her book Cultural Politics in Greater Romania: Regionalism, Nation Building, and Ethnic Struggle, 1918-1930, published by Cornell University Press, was awarded Heldt Prize (1995) by the Association of Women in Slavic Studies. She recently edited for the Association for Women in Slavic Studies Women & Gender in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Eurasia: A Comprehensive Bibliography.
