After the Fire

Image: Wise men slept and let the bitter seed grow and those that fought and yet destruction came, the young maiden who had yet to feel life and those that spit out their tongues to free themselves from all pain, all these suddenly passed, at the same moment.

After the Fire

Image: From the heavens alone, the maker who breathed the very life into those that sought to destroy, looked down on all this, heavy at heart, closed his eyes and at once there was no more.

After the Fire

Image: The cry that parted one's lips stopped at its uttermost wail, the echo swallowed by the thunderous clap that was to end all noise and revert to its absence.

After the Fire

Image: The images, not the real, but the masks of life that had been. Images frozen at the moment of impact, stilled forever, in a vacuum of nothingness. A last gasp for air through nostrils that are suddenly sealed.
