About the Author
Barbara Ramusack is Professor of South Asian and Chinese History at the University of Cincinnati. She is the author of The Indian Princes and their States, coauthor of Women in Asia: Restoring Women to History, and has written numerous articles and essays on women in India during the late colonial period. Her research has been recognized and supported by the American Institute for Indian Studies, the Charles Phelps Taft Fund, the Smithsonian Institution, the U.S. Department of State Fulbright Program and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
