The Internet is a vast repository of information, much of which will prove useful in your attempt to engage your students with the "stuff" of history. The following are just a few examples of sites that include primary sources:
Library of Congress, American Memory
The Learning Page
National Archives and Records Administration
Digital Classroom
Our Documents
The Avalon Project at Yale Law School
The Valley of the Shadow
WPA Life Histories from Virginia
Geography of Slavery in Virginia
Unfortunately, much of that information is inaccurate, misleading, or simply fiction. Examine the two sources listed here and determine whether they are credible or not.
The Rocket Car
Martin Van Buren Letter
