The Media and Technology Standing Professional Committee is pleased to
announce the winners of the 2005 MUSE Awards, recognizing excellence in
all varieties of media programs produced by or for museums. Now in its
sixteenth year, the Muse Awards competition received 138 applications
from a wide variety of museums in North America, Europe, Australia, and
Asia. Media formats received were closely divided into the following
categories: videos, DVDs, CD-ROMs, PDA tours, Web sites, audio tours,
and gallery installations. This year we are presenting 4 gold, 8
silver, 7 bronze, 11 honorable mention, and 2 special MUSE Awards among
seven categories. Thirty judges—museum and media professionals from
across the country—were involved in the process of selecting the
winners. The 2005 MUSE Awards competition would not have achieved its
goal and mission without the tremendous effort, commitment, and service
of these judges. Explore the Muse Showcase below, which features
jurors' comments, tips from producers, and color images of the media
programs.
